Andy
Williams
The
Bayshill
Andy first started
throwing darts at the Age of 14, playing against his dad Rob,
and others from the Bayshill team. By the time he was 15 it was
apparent he was a very good player and was invited to play for
the Bayshill team, whose Captain is Rob Williams, Andy's dad.
His first season playing in the Cheltenham Darts League proved
he was an up and coming star of the future. He finished 2nd in
this teams averages only being beaten by his dad Rob, Andy entered
the Leagues Open Singes competition that season and was runner-up
to Alan Wiggett, one of the Leagues top players, Andy knocking
out a number of good players along the way to the final.
Andy Joined the Bayshill
team for a 2nd season in the Cheltenham League and was also invited
to play for the Cheltenham Super League Team, playing on a Friday
night. By the end of the season in both Leagues Andy was showing
his true potential as a formidable darts player, being top of
the Bayshill teams averages in the 2003-2004 season. His Super
League season was even better, finishing 5th out of 150 in the
counties overall rankings an achievement he is proud of at the
age of 16.
Moving into his 3rd
season of darts he became a key player for both the Bayshill and
Super League teams. Andy would finish runner-up to his dad in
the Bayshill team averages (Andy would say he played the better
players). His Super League games finished with a creditable 10th
place overall out of in excess of 150 players. Andy entered the
Open Singles in the 2004-2005 season and fought his way to the
final to face Alan Wiggett in a repeat of the 2002-2003 final,
with both players throwing good darts, making an entertaining
final for the spectators with Alan taking the win again, as both
players play for Cheltenham Super League Team, they are good friends
and enjoyed the final playing against each other.
Andy is currently at
Stoke on Trent University (maybe he might meet Phil Taylor and
give him a game), when he returns from University we hope he will
continue to play darts and continue with his achievements such
as Super League top 10 finishes in 2 seasons, 12 x 180's with
his best achievement award from his fellow darts player's at the
age of 15.
The Bayshill and Cheltenham
Dart League would like to wish Andy luck and all the best with
many more 180's along the way.
